William Batelaan Sr.
Owner / President
Bill Batelaan began his career in lightweight floor underlayments around the age of 30. He started as a “water boy” on the crew. He worked hard to learn the ins and outs of the business and moved up quickly to a Pump Man and then a Superintendent. Bill loved working with all the people….the crews, the contractors, and later his own Sons. In the mid-1970s, Bill moved to Camarillo, CA, along with his wife, 3 sons, and 1 daughter. They settled in this small town, built their home, and started their own Gypsum Floor company. Throughout the years, Bill trained all 3 sons to have a part in the family business, and they worked side by side, constantly learning from their father and mentor.
Bill has always been a hard worker, striving to provide the best services possible, grow the company, and take care of his employees and family. He is a successful man, as shown by the fact that he still runs this Family business that he started many years ago. Bill is the “Papa” of the ACFS family and works along with his son William Jr today to keep the company growing year after year. William Batelaan Sr. passed away in 2023. He will be dearly missed.

Some of William’s earliest memories are watching his father and older brother develop and grow this family business. During the years spent working with his father, he learned the importance of mutual respect and shared responsibility in the workplace. This knowledge led Bill to be very successful in the construction management of all trades. He is a true leader and sets the example by being the first to dive in and drive the business towards success. William is focused on keeping the employees involved and connected. He strives to motivate them by providing enthusiasm, clear direction, and an atmosphere where the employees can feel heard and supported as part of the ACFS family.
Continuing the tradition of working for his family-run company affords him the freedom to be involved in the integral aspects of the business, including making critical decisions on how to guide and grow the company.

Since joining ACFS, Bill has been a key part of the office operations. He excels at maintaining an efficient and organized office, ensuring the office is always running smoothly. With a warm and friendly style, Bill maintains a high level of customer satisfaction with our client relations. He is experienced in handling a wide range of administrative duties and executive support-related tasks, including accounting, contract administration, and payroll. Bill assists in all aspects of the business, coordinating daily tasks with management and providing detailed information to the Estimator. He helps set his team up for success every day.

Estimator
With 44 years of experience, Bill is a true professional in the business. His expertise and attention to detail make him a leader in the field of estimating and project planning. His proposals on materials and labor are accurate and on point. He coordinates material requests, logistics, and job walks and provides clear communication to our contractors and crews. Bill adheres to precise scheduling time frames for our clients and ensures our Gypcrete crews are properly on the calendar and remain on schedule. He works hand in hand with suppliers, foremen, and laborers and provides support to the entire team.
Bret Roberts
Project Administrator
Bret provides a multitude of technical skills and cutting-edge strategies that increase productivity. He has an impressive history in the tech industry, and an AS degree in business administration, making him a perfect fit for the growing demands of the company’s services. His fresh perspective and commitment to efficiency is a welcome addition to the team, and his positive attitude fosters a heartwarming atmosphere in the workplace. Not only does Bret greatly aid in operational functions; he is constantly striving to bring the company to new heights and is an absolute pleasure to work with.
